The Vision

Matterworks is using the power of AI to fundamentally change the impact of biological measurements and observations. Our team is building technology that harnesses machine learning for the interpretation of and prediction on disparate datasets. We are leading the development of foundational technologies that support scientific advancement by bridging the gap between data collection and the ability to change outcomes.

Our Values

In pursuit of these ambitious goals, we rely on our core company values to guide our work:

Operations

A team of ‘many-hats’ professionals that provide support across the organization with the people, processes, and tools necessary to accomplish individual and collective goals; whether through finance, legal, human resources, recruiting, or lab operations.

Culture

At Matterworks, we believe that a culture of camaraderie best supports the interdisciplinary collaboration required to develop our novel platform, which unleashes the power of machine learning on analytical chemistry methods, tools, and data to accelerate the discovery, development, and manufacture of biologics and gene therapies.

To foster such a culture, Matterworks sponsors regular team events and activities, including all-hands lunches, happy hours, offsite outings, and birthday & milestone celebrations.

🔬 The Future of Bioprocessing: Absolute Quantification. Fast. Sensitive. Simplified.

We're excited to share new data with our collaborators at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines on how Pyxis, our AI-powered platform used for absolute quantification of metabolites, enhances cell culture media and CHO cell metabolism profiling, ultimately streamlining bioprocessing optimization.

📌 Poster Highlights:
✅ Reduces analysis time of raw LC-MS data to 15 minutes without compromising results (compared to conventional approaches that take 6-8 weeks to deliver)
✅ Achieves excellent sensitivity, with LOQs as low as 5–200 nM
✅ Simplifies annotation—no need for any data manipulation, go from raw data to annotation and absolute quant in a single step, requiring no isotope-labeled standards
✅ Machine Learning facilitates new discoveries in cellular health and productivity

🚨 Visit us at the #CHIBioprocessingSummit to explore how Pyxis is accelerating insights across cell line development and bioprocessing optimization.
📍 Poster Session B, Number: B33
📅 Presentation: Wednesday, August 20th
Presenter: Adi Kulkarni, Ph.D.
